Joan Yeo drives the company’s Cognitive/A.I. projects (A.I., Machine Learning / Deep Learning, Big Data, Predictive Analytics / IOT) and application of Advanced Manufacturing technology across IBM’s worldwide Supply Chain. Her responsibilities include optimizing productivity and profitability through continual process improvements and translating operational/business needs to architecture and end-to-end solutions. She is a key driver in IBM digital transformation towards Industry 4.0 standards, particularly in Manufacturing, Supply Chain and client engagement.
Joan has many years of experience in a wide spectrum of IBM products such as storage solutions, security appliances, cognitive systems and mainframe servers. Besides being known for her leadership and success in delivering to critical and challenging projects, Joan is a mentor to many and is passionate about developing her Engineers' strategic skills.
By embracing new technologies and trying bold ideas, Joan was selected by the industry executives and won the 2022 Manufacturing Leadership Awards in Digital Transformation. Joan has extensive experience and knowledge with Manufacturing 4.0 and demonstrated excellence in her commitment to digital technology leadership to drive transformational change in IBM. She has transformed the organization by helping to lead changes in culture, in how data is leveraged to improve decision-making, in how work is organized, and in how people are inspired to achieve excellence. She rises to become role models for other individuals and companies in the industry. She is the experienced professional at diverse levels of leadership within the organizations.
Under Joan’s leadership, the company’s 5G Industry 4.0 partnership project was awarded by IMDA in April 2020. The project combines IBM’s Industry 4.0 solutions with the capabilities of other cross-industry strategic partners in Singapore’s first 5G Industry 4.0 trial to accelerate the adoption of 5G technology in the industry and advance Singapore’s Smart Nation vision.
